Illinois Uninsured: the Markeplace

About 900,000 working-age adults in Illinois fall into the target population for enrollement in the new Health Insurance Marketplace. This is predominantly a group of working citizens who are not currently served by public assistance programs, and they were less-intensively targeted in community-based ACA outreach efforts. Surveys have suggested that people in this demographic group were largely unaware that health insurance was available for them, and almost entirely unaware that they might qualify for financial assistance.
